This title places players into massive 64-player battles across multiple game modes, pitting the US Army/Marines, Australian Army, and Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) against the North Vietnamese Army (PAVN) and Viet Cong (NLF). The game features over 50 distinct weapons, four flyable helicopters including the Huey and Cobra, and emphasizes asymmetric warfare mechanics. Players can engage on more than 20 maps and utilize extensive character customization options.

The game supports six playable armies, each with unique supporting arms and mobility options. Southern forces, comprising US, Australian, and ARVN units, benefit from firepower and mobility, with access to air support, artillery, and helicopter transport. Northern forces, the PAVN and VC, counter with stealth, tunnel systems, and a broad mix of weaponry derived from Soviet and Chinese supplies.
