WORLD OF FINAL FANTASY® is a standalone entry within the Final Fantasy universe, a creature-collecting RPG centered on strategic combat. Players explore the vast land of Grymoire, capturing hundreds of unique creatures known as Mirages. Customise and evolve these Mirages, then stack them into adorable yet strategic monster towers to engage in battles against foes.

The core battle system demands players combine Mirage sizes and elements effectively to gain an advantage. Evolve Mirages to teach new abilities, unlock mirajewels that grant the main characters powers, or "transfig" them into mighty new forms. Certain Mirages also assist in field traversal, and vertical dungeons require their use to navigate obstacles. Originally released in November 2017, the game later expanded as WORLD OF FINAL FANTASY Maxima, introducing new characters from Final Fantasy lore (Champions) and additional Mirages, alongside an Avatar Change system that allows protagonists Reynn and Lann to fight as Champions.
