X-Out: Resurfaced is a faithful remake of the 1990 home computer shoot 'em up, X-Out, developed by Kritzelkratz 3000 and Rainbow Arts. It plunges players into an underwater alien invasion, a departure from the typical space settings of the genre. The game retains the core challenge of its predecessor while introducing significant visual and mechanical upgrades.

The remake boasts high-resolution sprites, enhanced particle and lighting effects, and 8 distinct stages populated by new enemies and bosses. Players can customize their ships and weapons through an improved shop system, which now includes pre-configured load-outs and clearer item descriptions. The soundtrack features original and new synth compositions by Chris Huelsbeck. X-Out: Resurfaced also adds a local 2-player co-op mode and a Mirror Mode that reverses level scrolling.
