X-Morph: Defense is an action-strategy game that fuses top-down shooting with tower defense elements. Players control the alien X-Morph, tasked with harvesting Earth's resources and terraforming the planet. The game allows players to strategically build mazes using alien towers, shape enemy paths with laser fences, and directly engage human forces with a diverse alien arsenal. Environments are highly destructible, enabling players to alter the battlefield by collapsing buildings and bridges to support their defense or simply for spectacle. The game includes four morphable alien forms, each with unique weapons and abilities for tackling different threats, and supports a split-screen co-op mode for two players. The X-Morph can transform into distinct forms to counter various enemy types, such as the Plasma Fighter for general combat, the Dark Matter Bomber for ground unit decimation and building destruction, the Shredder fighter for air unit annihilation, and the Laser Destroyer for single-unit elimination and gravitational anomaly creation. Boss fights against massive human war machines present unique challenges that dynamically influence the gameplay environment. The game's destructible environments are a core mechanic, with physics-simulated destruction affecting battlefield layout and creating dynamic gameplay scenarios. X-Morph: Defense also offers a split-screen co-op mode where missions are designed for cooperative play, requiring teamwork to fend off larger enemy waves attacking from multiple directions.
