UFO: Aftershock is a strategy game that blends tactical squad combat with global strategy. It expands on its predecessor, UFO: Aftermath, by introducing a new gripping storyline set in 2054. Players manage resources and bases while engaging in tactical missions that utilize an enhanced Simultaneous Action System (SAS) and RPG elements. The game includes an interactive, destructible environment, new items, technologies, enemies, allies, and a diplomacy system.The gameplay interweaves strategic management with small-scale tactical engagements. Players research new technologies, train units, and contend with both terrifying new enemies and powerful allies. The addition of diplomacy provides another layer of strategic interaction.
