Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy marks the fifth outing in the Trine series, presenting a 2.5D adventure centered on puzzle platformer action. Players control Amadeus the Wizard, Zoya the Thief, and Pontius the Knight, guiding them through landscapes to confront a fearsome Clockwork army. This journey supports 1-4 players through single-player, local, and online co-op modes, emphasizing cooperative traversal and combat.

The experience deepens with an upgraded puzzle difficulty system, adapting challenges based on the number of players. A new skill quest system allows players to level up hero abilities, expanding playstyle variety and character progression. Combat encounters are enhanced by a new system and tense boss battles, alongside adaptive difficulty settings for both combat and puzzles, increasing replayability.
