The Metronomicon: Slay The Dance Floor is a Rhythm RPG where players battle monsters by performing actions to a beat. The game features a story mode with musically-empowered heroes and a diverse soundtrack from electronic and indie artists. Players can improve character stats, acquire equipment, and switch between combat roles like tanking, healing, buffing, and damage-dealing. Replayability is supported through freeplay, ranked side quests, and an arena mode.

A recent update added local multiplayer to all game modes, along with an Endless Mode. This new mode allows players to unlock hero and global passive abilities. The update also includes a secret hero and a cheat code for seeded speed runs. Players can also create and play custom choreography for their own music tracks using an in-game tool.
