Team Sonic Racing™, a racing spinoff in the Sonic series, offers a blend of arcade and competitive racing, centering on intense multiplayer team competition. Players select from 15 characters across the Sonic Universe, each categorized as Speed, Technique, or Power, and customize their vehicle's appearance and handling. The core gameplay loop requires teamwork: racers share power-ups and speed boosts to gain strategic advantages against rival teams.

Online multiplayer accommodates up to 12 players per race, complemented by 4-player local split-screen co-op. Race modes encompass Grand Prix, Exhibition, Time-Trial, and a Team Adventure Mode providing a unique story experience to introduce core game features and characters. Team Racing forms the central pillar, enabling players to execute team moves, eliminate opponents, and unleash a Team Ultimate.
