REANIMAL is a debut IP from Tarsier Studios, the creators of Little Nightmares I & II, presenting itself as a co-op horror adventure game. Players assume the roles of a brother and sister navigating a hellish island to rescue missing friends. Exploration occurs both by boat and on land, demanding players utilize their wits to survive and cooperate to escape the island and its dark secrets. The core loop emphasizes tension and atmosphere within a desperate search for hope.

The game supports single-player, local co-op, and online co-op, all utilizing a shared, directed camera specifically designed to maximize claustrophobia and tension. Players traverse a dark, twisted world, discovering various mysterious locations, each contributing to a fragmented narrative. Tarsier Studios applies its distinct visual style to new twisted monsters and resilient child characters, with elements of the children's troubled past inspiring character and monster designs.
