Players select any contemporary nation and manage its domestic and international affairs, including economy, diplomacy, espionage, and warfare. The game aims for engaging gameplay over strict historical accuracy, with randomized starting conditions for each playthrough to ensure variety. Ambitions extend beyond Earth, with players able to expand their influence and conquer territories across the solar system.The game introduces a new Frontlines system for more dynamic warfare, alongside reworked combat mechanics for air and sea units. A dynamic building system allows for more flexible province development. Players can influence their nation's political alignment, from Liberalism to Tyranny, and can now hand-pick a cabinet of ministers, fostering or ignoring relationships with political parties and their respective blocs.
