About Psychonauts

Psychonauts marks the debut of Double Fine Productions, establishing a surreal 3D platformer and action-adventure hybrid. Razputin, a young psychic, infiltrates the Whispering Rock Psychic Summer Camp to join an elite group of secret agents. He navigates a conspiracy involving stolen brains by projecting his consciousness into the minds of various characters. Gameplay focuses on traversing these mental landscapes to resolve internal conflicts and uncover hidden memories.

Razputin utilizes psychic mechanics such as Telekinesis, Levitation, and mental projection to solve environmental puzzles and defeat enemies. Each level requires the player to fight personified mental demons and physically sort emotional baggage to progress through the host's psyche. The title earned critical acclaim for its imaginative level design and clever writing, eventually achieving cult classic status. Psychonauts remains a definitive example of narrative-driven platforming.
