Peggle Extreme is a standalone themed spin-off of the original Peggle, delivering fast-paced puzzle action that blends elements of pinball and pachinko. Players fire a metallic silver ball from the top of the screen. Gravity propels the ball downwards, ricocheting off orange and blue pegs. The core objective is to clear all orange pegs from the screen before exhausting all available balls.
A moving bucket at the screen's bottom provides free balls. Green power-up pegs and purple bonus multiplier pegs introduce gameplay twists. The game includes Bjorn the Unicorn's "super-guide" power-up, which extends shot trajectory visibility beyond initial bounces. Players navigate 10 "Extreme" challenges and 5 Master challenges, or compete in Duel Mode against a friend or the computer. This edition incorporates artwork and sounds from Half-Life: Episode 2, Portal, and Team Fortress 2, allowing players to replay and save their best shots.
