Players manage a humble village and expand it into a metropolis by constructing infrastructure to transport raw materials and processed goods across untamed territory. The core loop balances urban sprawl against resource availability while satisfying the evolving needs of a growing population. Citizens progress through a social hierarchy, transitioning from basic laborers into specialized roles such as artisans, gladiators, and thespians.

Advanced water and weather simulations require the construction of dams, aqueducts, and reservoirs to control flow and prevent flooding during rainy seasons. These hydraulic systems directly impact soil fertility and the efficiency of complex supply chains producing wine, pottery, and bread. A divine intervention system demands the construction of grand temples to appease the gods, as neglect triggers catastrophic events while devotion earns specific blessings.
