Limouzik is a debut music creation software that transforms a computer into a virtual instrument. Users group a complete three-note chord onto a single key, enabling instant instrumental play. An underlying algorithm continuously recalculates the pitch of other notes, ensuring harmonious play grounded in classical harmony and chord relationships within a key. This system allows individuals without music theory knowledge or musical training to reproduce varied pieces, from classical compositions to popular music.
The software operates as a polyphonic live instrument, offering access to 128 MIDI instruments. It includes two mini-games, "Simons Says" and "Cursus," designed to familiarize users with its interface and core concept. Limouzik facilitates the transposition of scores across all tones and incorporates a converter that automatically generates musical arrangements from chord grids or tablatures, eliminating the need for solfeggio knowledge. It also supports compatibility with external virtual synthesizers and integrates a Beat Box.
