It includes a story mode and a Survival Mixtapes mode, supporting singleplayer and local co-op gameplay.Players take on the role of The Leader, tasked with defending their town from the Greed. This involves recruiting neighborhood kids and unique companions, each possessing special skills. Together, they build defenses, gather resources, and manage operations like lemonade stands and pizza shops. The game's visual style embraces 1980s aesthetics with neon lights and a synth-pop soundtrack. Survival Mixtapes mode challenges players with progressively difficult waves of enemies across four distinct episodes, introducing randomized elements like disabled building abilities and random mounts.
