HPL: Nyarlathotep Rising is a debut narrative RPG, immersing players in a cosmic horror story set in 1929. Players assume control of one of three characters—Mark, Anna, or Victor—guiding them through a world threatened by the awakening of Nyarlathotep. Traverse locations from London to New York and other planes of reality, making decisions that influence the chosen character's path and the concurrent evolution of the other two protagonists. Confront cultists and monsters, navigate intricate encounters, and make choices that shape alliances and enmities within a deteriorating world.
Player decisions directly affect character characteristics: Body, Resolution, Spirit, Insight, and Charisma. The development of these traits determines available future options and narrative branches. Collect information, clues, artifacts, weapons, and spells to aid progression. As knowledge accumulates, so does madness, challenging player perception and beliefs. This interactive novel features multiple distinct endings, with each character's story evolving according to player choices.
