Gyromancer is a debut puzzle RPG, a collaboration between PopCap and Square Enix. Players assume the role of Rivel, alongside his companion Laska, embarking on a grand chase across twelve distinct stages. Each stage presents specific objectives, ranging from defeating blocking beasts to solving timed puzzles. Combat utilizes a battle system based on Bejeweled Twist mechanics, where Rivel can summon and command dozens of unique beasts encountered to bend their power to his will.
Rivel gains levels through battle, acquiring powerful new beasts and shaping his play style by selecting from a diverse roster of summoned creatures. Players search each map for items, coins, and additional beasts to join their side. Stages contain hidden awards for completing various feats, offering additional challenges for dedicated players.
