Gangs of Sherwood presents a co-operative action brawler, reimagining the legend of Robin Hood within a futuristic dystopian setting. Players assume the role of one of the Merry Men, engaging in direct combat against the Sheriff of Nottingham's forces. Lead a rebellion through various encounters, either as a solo operative or alongside up to three additional players.

The core loop revolves around liberating the oppressed populace and confronting the Sheriff's regime. Combat emphasizes combining attacks, allowing players to synergize abilities across different Merry Men characters in multiplayer.
