Ebenezer and the Invisible World is a story-rich 2D Metroidvania adventure where players control Ebenezer Scrooge in a reimagined Victorian-fantasy London. Players enlist the aid of various ghosts, each possessing unique abilities, to explore different regions of the city and combat the forces of industrialist Caspar Malthus and his Private Guard, who are influenced by a Dark Spirit and an army of Unrepentant Ghosts.The gameplay centers on classic non-linear, ability-gated Metroidvania exploration. Players will unlock and utilize the distinct powers of spectral allies to traverse the environment and overcome obstacles. Movement Ghosts, such as trapeze artists Rose and Flossie Reed, mountaineer Victoria Peak, and professor Haley Hall, facilitate unique traversal methods. Combat involves fighting a legion of Unrepentant Ghosts, utilizing ghost abilities and collecting limited materials like Ether, Iron, and Mugwort to unlock new items and abilities. The narrative unfolds through dialogues, cutscenes, and the discovery of ghost backstories, all presented with hand-drawn art and frame-by-frame animations.
