Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara presents reworkings of Capcom’s classic arcade hits, Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom and Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara, as a unified digital collection. This arcade beat 'em up experience allows up to four players to select a distinct character class. Players then engage mythical creatures from the Dungeons & Dragons universe using a combination of melee, ranged, and magic attacks in direct combat.

The collection integrates GGPO enhanced online play, facilitating a smooth experience where up to four players can drop in or out of co-op games in progress. Players modify gameplay with House Rules, including Unbreakable items, the timed Enemy Rush mode, or the gold-focused Make it Rain modifier. A new Challenge System introduces an RPG-like layer, providing objectives that allow players to level up and acquire Vault Coins. These coins unlock gameplay loot and items within The Vault. A Character Visualizer tracks character usage across players, aiding in balanced multiplayer team creation, while leaderboards and a connected arcade system provide detailed player statistics and competitive tracking.
