Command & Conquer™ Tiberian Sun™ and Firestorm™ continues the real-time strategy lineage as a direct sequel to the original Command & Conquer. Players command either the Global Defense Initiative or the Brotherhood of Nod, engaging in tactical warfare across dynamic battlefields. Terrain proves destructible and deformable, with environmental elements such as forest fires and treacherous ice fields influencing strategic decisions.

The game introduces new unit types like Jump Jet Infantry, Hover Tanks, Tunneling APCs, Hunter Seekers, Laser Fences, and Mechanized Battle Units, expanding tactical options. A "Veterancy" factor allows units to gain speed and strength through combat experience, evolving their effectiveness. Kinetic Battlefields enhance the visual and tactical experience with flying shrapnel, shock waves, and crashing debris.
