Check and Slash

Check and Slash is an indie action-adventure game from Gate of Madness that merges hack and slash combat with chess piece movement mechanics. Players navigate procedurally generated maze maps, engaging enemies in real-time combat. The objective is to defeat foes, collect upgrades by rescuing black pieces, and ultimately confront the enemy king.

The game incorporates roguelite and soulslike elements, offering character upgrades and strategic build choices from randomly presented options. Its structure includes 43 unlockable room levels within the maze, each featuring varied enemy combinations.
