Candy Rangers is an on-rails shooter adventure developed by Mechano. Players control one of four distinct rangers: Candy, who shoots sideways; Mint, who shoots vertically; Plum, who shoots back and forth; and Lemon, who shoots diagonally. The game includes over 20 levels with secret paths, varied enemies, and four bosses. Progression involves earning star ranks, collecting memories, and finding ranger medals that unlock content.

Unlockable modes enhance replayability, including Inky Mode, where the player can shoot in all directions, and Arcade Mode, which challenges players to complete levels without breaks. Additional gameplay mechanics include melee attacks for parrying and interacting with objects, as well as jump, dash, and brake actions for navigation. Players can also split their team to tackle two paths simultaneously and face a hard mode with increased penalties for taking damage.
