Barotrauma

Barotrauma is a debut IP, presenting a 2D co-op submarine simulator blending survival horror and RPG elements, drawing comparisons to FTL: Faster Than Light, Rimworld, Dwarf Fortress, and Space Station 13. Players navigate an underwater environment on Jupiter's moon Europa, steering a submarine through missions, engaging alien monsters, and managing critical systems. Crew members must fix leaks, operate machinery, and man weapons while maintaining vigilance against both environmental dangers and potential internal sabotage.

The experience supports up to 16 players, with bots filling roles in both singleplayer and multiplayer modes. Six distinct player classes—Captain, Engineer, Mechanic, Medic, Security officer, and Assistant—each offer three specialization talent trees for character progression. Faction and reputation mechanics influence interactions within the procedurally generated world and missions, which offer multiple game modes for replayability. Players utilize a comprehensive crafting system for equipment, weapons, and medicines, and can create custom submarines, characters, and animations using built-in editors, with extensive modding support available via Steam Workshop and direct source code access. Barotrauma delivers a deep, collaborative, and often treacherous underwater survival simulation.
