Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 is the latest entry in Inti Creates' high-speed 2D action series. Players control both new protagonist Kirin and returning hero Gunvolt, switching between their distinct combat styles on the fly. The game integrates its narrative through "Story Mode+", which allows character dialogue and story progression to occur without halting gameplay. Over 150 "Image Pulses," collectible summons and equipment derived from Gunvolt's memories, can be acquired to aid players in battle.

The soundtrack includes seven new vocal tracks from virtual pop idol Lumen, alongside classic series songs. Kirin's swordplay and Gunvolt's lightning abilities offer varied approaches to stage progression and boss encounters. The game offers full English and Japanese voice acting.
