Axis Football 2018 is the fourth installment in the independent American football simulation series developed by Axis Games. The game expands on its core simulation mechanics with over 50 new formations and 1000 new plays, alongside updated player movement controls and animations. It supports multiple game modes, including Player vs AI, Coach Mode, Spectator Mode, and local Player vs Player.
The simulation's Franchise Mode has undergone a significant overhaul, incorporating player contracts, trades, injuries, practice squads, and free agency. A dynamic, tiered league structure features playoffs, promotions, and relegations, allowing for unlimited seasons with performance-based player progression, end-of-season drafts, and detailed stat tracking. Axis Football 2018 also provides extensive modding capabilities, allowing customization of team names, logos, rosters, and player attributes.
